The customized training session titled "Managing During a Pandemic: Coping Strategies for you and your Team", is one of dynamic soundness and applies a practical approach for the junior Regional Leaders of the Post and Telecommunications Department (PTD) that operates in quite challenging environments, especially treating with the current consistent wave of the COVID-19 Pandemic on the island of Jamaica.

Joni-Gaye Cawley, JP, BBA, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, MBA, PMP
Human Resource Consultant & Trainer

Ms. Joni-Gaye Cawley is an HR Practitioner with over 17 years’ experience in the field of HR. She holds the internationally recognized HR designations, Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from the HR Certification Institute, USA and Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) from the Society for Human Resource Management, USA. Additionally, she holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Wales, UK and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree Human Resource Management Major, Marketing Minor from the University of Technology, Jamaica.  Ms. Cawley received the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute, of which she is a member.  She is pursuing an MPhil/PhD in Education at the University of the West Indies, Mona.

 

Since 2004, Ms. Cawley has been providing HR Consulting services to small and medium-sized businesses, while concurrently working in corporate Jamaica. She served as Group HR Manager for Amber Group (2021), Operations Manager for DHL Jamaica Ltd. (2018 – 2020) and before that, Human Resource & Training Manager for DHL Jamaica and the Cayman Islands (2014 – 2018). Prior to joining DHL, she served in the roles of Senior Director, Human Resource Services and Lecturer in Human Resource Management (2013 – 2014), at the International University of the Caribbean. Ms. Cawley served for nine (9) years at GraceKennedy Ltd. (2004 to 2013), working directly with the Chief Human Resource Officers for both the Investments and Foods Divisions at various junctures during her tenure. 

She is an experienced Trainer, Presenter and Moderator, having presented at local and regional conferences and workshops hosted by the Jamaica Employers Federation (JEF), Talentbox Caribbean, Woman Inc, Human Resource Management Association of Jamaica (HRMAJ), Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC), JMMB and CaribHR Forum.

 

Ms. Cawley sits on the Boards of Directors of the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce (JCC), HYC Medical Ltd., and Woman Inc. She is a member the Human Resource Management Association of Jamaica, the Society for Human Resource Management, USA, the Small Business Association of Jamaica, the Project Management Institute (PMI) and the Royal Jamaica Yacht Club.  She also serves as Justice of the Peace (JP).

 

Ms. Cawley specializes in Recruitment, including Headhunting to fill senior roles or roles that are highly specialized, Performance Management, and Customized Training.

 

Clients include government ministries, public sector entities, private sector companies in manufacturing, banking, retail, education, hospitality, the petroleum industry, accounting & auditing, real estate, information technology solutions, medical centres, pharmaceutical distribution, warehousing, BPO, and quick service restaurants.
